Internation Sun-Earth Explorer 3

The International Sun-Earth Explorer - 3 (ISEE-3) was a mission to investigate the solar wind in interplanetary space. It was the first spacecraft to be be stationed at the first Lagrange point between the Sun and Earth. After completing its original mission it was renamed the International Cometary Explorer (ICE) and made close observations of two comets: Giacobini-Zinner and Halley.
